Welcome to Bickerstaffe Parish Council

The Parish of Bickerstaffe in the North West of England has a population of about 1,300 people and covers an area of some 2,446 hectares (6044 acres, 9.44 sq.miles). Situated between Ormskirk, Skelmersdale and Rainford, Bickerstaffe is agricultural in aspect.

In Bickerstaffe we have eight Parish Councillors, elected from the local community. Councillors stand for elections every four years. We are supported by a Parish Clerk.

The Parish Councillors have decided to work towards Quality Parish Council Status. The Quality scheme is open to all Parish Councils, irrespective of size. It aims to enable Parish Councils to work more closely with others in the delivery of local services and better represent their local communities.
